QEC or quantum error correction is a necessary step in the quantum computing process to ensure that our measurements are not just ideal or too-perfect simulations of complex systems. It is a multi-step process where we have to apply certain operations in order to account for noise and other influencers that may affect the computation run on quantum computers. Error Correction topics
- Mathematically quite complicating
- decoding
- syndrome to detect if an error has occurred
- requires low-latency
- requires deterministic low-latency as one needs to be sure
- one should be interested in a decoding chip for error correction
